If you open Settings on iPhone looking for “all my subscriptions”, you will not find them. You will find the ones Apple bills. That is a smaller list than most UK households actually pay.
Netflix signed up on the website, Sky on the telly bill, PureGym by Direct Debit, a newspaper on a card — none of those sit under your Apple Account. People finish the Settings check, feel organised, and still get surprised in three weeks.

What iPhone Settings actually lists
Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions is the list of things charged to your Apple ID. Typical examples:
- Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple News+
- iCloud+ storage
- Apple One (the bundle)
- Any app you subscribed to inside the App Store — a news app, a meditation app, a game pass sold as an in-app purchase
If the money leaves via Apple, it belongs on that screen. If it does not, Settings will stay silent.

How to see App Store subscriptions on iPhone
This takes about a minute. Do it even if you “already know” — expired trials and forgotten apps hide here.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top (Apple Account).
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Open each Active item. Note the name, price, and next renewal date.
- Scroll to Expired. These are not billing now. They are the ones that catch people who tap Subscribe again without meaning to.

Work phone, old iCloud email, or a child’s device can sit on a different Apple Account. Repeat the same path on that device, or sign in at account.apple.com and check Subscriptions there.
iPad, Mac, and the web
Same Apple ID, same list. Useful if you share a Mac or the iPhone Settings screen is being awkward.
- iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Mac: System Settings → your name → Media & Purchases (or Subscriptions, depending on macOS version).
- Any browser: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions — sign in with the Apple ID that pays.
If it is not in Settings, it is still a subscription
This is the gap most “how to find subscriptions on iPhone” articles skip. In the UK the expensive stuff is often not an app purchase.
1. Search your email for receipts
In Mail (or Gmail / Outlook), search:

An Apple receipt tells you which Apple ID was billed. If the address is not the one on this iPhone, that is why the subscription is “missing”.
2. Skim one bank or card statement
You do not need to hand the statement to an app. Open last month in your banking app, look for repeating names and similar amounts. Direct Debits (gyms, broadband, insurance) and card recurring payments (many streamers) both show here. Write down name, amount, and roughly when it hits.

3. Check Family Sharing
Go to Settings → Family. If you are in a family group, someone else may be paying for Apple One, extra iCloud storage, or apps you use every day. The charge is real. It just is not on your Subscriptions screen.
4. Sky, Virgin, and “it’s on the TV bill”
Disney+ or Netflix can sit on a Sky or Virgin account. The iPhone app will play. Cancel will not live in Settings. Start with Sky or Virgin Media if the streaming charge is bundled.

- iPhone: Settings → name → Subscriptions (Active and Expired)
- Same check on any other Apple ID you still use
- Settings → Family, if you share purchases
- Email search for Apple receipts and “membership”
- One month of bank or card transactions — repeating names only
- Write each one down: name, amount, rough date, where it is billed (Apple / company / Direct Debit)
